Bob Carey studied art at Murray State University, The University of Louisville, and received his BA from The University of California, Santa Cruz in 1973. He also has a Masters Degree from The Episcopal Seminary in Berkeley, California. He began taking photographs when he was fourteen using a Sears SLR that his father bought him. He developed and printed his black and white film in the bathtub. In 1960 he bought his first Nikon and has been using Nikons ever since. His son, Chris, introduced him to Adobe Photoshop in 1995 and his interest in graphic design grew. He started Carey Graphic Design in 1996 and has focused on photography the last six years. He has been teaching Graphic Design Technology at Indian River Community College since 2001. An avid environmentalist, he is an Eagle Watch volunteer coordinator for the Audubon Society
